Newborn Lifeline Network

Safe Place for Newborns is proud to announce a partnership with Newborn Lifeline Network -a national 24/7 telephone crisis line, whose mission is to prevent newborn abandonment by connecting women with resources in her local community.

Firefighters

Firefighter Ken Vandermeir was on duty late one evening when a baby was safely relinquished to the safe haven program.  Although his fire station is a  fully equipped as an Advanced Life Support station, Ken realized that they were not prepared to contend with the unique needs that a newborn baby has.

Ken and his wife have established First Care Kits to help fire stations be prepared to receive a child into a safe haven program.  If your state permits newborns to be dropped off at fire stations, you will find it helpful to check them out. www.firstcarekits.com.

Map will direct you to Safe Haven laws in other states.
